Vancouver Veteran PTSD Study with WBV-CBD-Completed 2018

Enrollment Criteria

US Military veteran with PTSD or TBI diagnosis or symptoms consistent with these conditions. $10 enrollment to be returned on completion of all outcome measures. 

Interventions

Whole body vibration has been shown to be helpful for physical conditioning and cognitive function. CBD in preclinical studies has been effective for controlling symptoms of PTSD and TBI.

Protocol

30 veterans will be divided into 3 groups. Group A receives WBV, Group C, Cannabidiol alone, Group B, both WBV and CBD. Training sessions for WBV are three times per week for 30 minutes. CBD use is 5 mg three times per day. The trial will run 4 weeks.

Results

22 veterans completed the program. One dropped out. Group B had 5 members all had >50% improvement in symptoms. Group A WBV alone had 3 participants with 2/3 showing > 50% improvement. Group C used CBD alone 10/12 indicated >50% improvement. Overall,  Questionnaires showed an average of 62% improvement in symptoms.  No significant or sustained adverse effects were reported.
